The Bland Shire Council West Wyalong was a recipient of three NSW Office of Sport AED grants in the very first round of funding to be granted.
There is now an AED located at three of the local sport facilities:
- the McAlister Oval (in the canteen)
- the Ron Crowe Oval (at the members bar)
- and located adjacent to the Ron Crowe Oval is the indoor Basketball Stadium (Near the door leading into the court area).
All three AEDs were installed by the Defibshop under the NSW Office of Sport AED funding grants.
The Defibshop will work with the Bland Shire Council to maintain their defibrillator fleet so that all units are always ready to respond to any Sudden Cardiac Arrest that should occur.
An information session on Sudden Cardiac Arrest and how to use the AED was recently held with a group of locals who use the stadium in attendance to learn just how easy an AED is to use!
